You know, all I wanna do is get to know you, meet you and like you.

But now it seems like, wow, we really are doing nothing. I mean, you’re doing nothing. I sometimes wonder what you’re doing, what you’re wearing..even though I don’t even know you. You’re probably just sitting behind your desk in class doing some artsy stuff, clubbing with your girlfriends or doing other things that don’t have anything to do with thinking about how you thought this guy was cute and wanted to get to know him and caught him off guard but in the end thought that whussisname was just another loser.

Pfff. And here I was, lying down on my bed, head rested on my palms fantasizing how I’d go to your school every other day, eat with you during your breaks and walk you to your class when we finish talking and laughing and you’d find an excuse to skip class just to spend more time with me. And then my mind would drift to a park bench where we our lips first met and you’d lie on my chest and me just holding you close, stroking your hair and we’d not say a thing. After we gaze into the eternal darkness above us for what seems like an eternity, we’d look at each other and share a passionate embrace. Then I’d just want to say how much you mean to me and hope that you’d tell me a story of just three words……

That’s how far I went. And we hardly know each other. But it meant the world to me when I first got to know you. Albeit it was not person to person, it meant that someone was interested in me. Someone felt enough attraction to want to make the first move.

.

.

But now, just like how every chapter of my love-life ends, it finishes with me knocking on a door of stranger, hoping someday it’ll open.

And OH!!! United scored their first silverware of the season!!! Not a great performance but a win is a win is a win.

Plus,I played my first match in months after many postpones in previous weeks. Plenty of chances,DID NOT put them away but I felt I was doing considerably well despite the months of hiatus from football, one of my true loves. Made the defenders look like fools with my guile but…did not find the back of the net. Team lost. 2-1. Now I have two very sore ankles, a hurting shin and sore back, all from getting hacked down by the frustrated defenders. I guess when I give, boy do I take.

The day will finally come when Rafael dethrones Roger from his No.1 rank! I don’t know what’s going on in Federer’s mind right now, he looks far from a man who has won 12 grand slam titles. You have to feel sorry for the guy. I think, after 4½ years of being the top man, pressure and fatigue has caught up with him. I watched the epic battle of tennis powerhouses in the Wimbledon men’s final. It was nail-biting, jaw dropping, nerve-wrecking. I didn’t know who to back to win the whole thing-I wanted Roger to set a new record of 6 straight Wimbledon titles but I also wanted Rafa to win something else besides the French Open.

I think Rafa deserves what he has and will achieve(d). He’s a nice and humble bloke, a top athlete and an immensely talented player. I’m sure,as everyone else is,he will be one of the main men of tennis for years to come.

As for Mr. Federer, I hope he bounces back from this spell he is in now. He’s still one of,if not THE best players of all time. Like the saying goes, form is temporary, class is forever. And Roger has class like no one else does. C’mon Roger!!!

And now for football. Wow. Spurs do know how to spend. Modric, Dos Santos, Bentley. Three young and very exciting players. I hope they don’t disappoint again like last season when they were expected to challenge for a top 4 place but only managed a mid-table finish. I will update as soon as I get to know the latest transfers!

Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.

Lets just say she didn’t think I was “kinda cute” and never added me at MSN, wouldn’t it have made my life easy for the past month? Then I wouldn’t have to be playing mind games-no wait. I wouldn’t have been a VICTIM of mind games.

I’d tell her “Hey,call me. Here’s my number-96126126. Call me. Please call me. Okay?” Without a word, offline she’d go. Ok,maybe she’ll call later. An hour’d go by. Then 2. And then 3. When its 4 in the morning, I still would wait. But the sleepy mind and those 2-ton eyelids won’t let up on me. Then I’d surrender into a deep slumber. When I awake at 12 noon, the first thing I’d do is check my phone for missed calls. Nada. Zilch. Nothing. “Ok maybe she was too tired. She’ll call soon.” My naiveness and oblivion to the obvious triggered, creating a sense of hope. Not expectation, hope.

I’d constantly look at the photo she’d given to me to show me how she looks like the first time we chatted through MSN messenger. I saved it in my phone. Gosh. Everytime I look at it, I’d raise my odds of getting her.

Another game of wait and patience ensues come the night. On some nights, she wouldn’t appear at all. But sometimes, juusst sometimes, she’d appear and my head would fill up with so much thoughts and my heart filled with joy. I ask her “Hey,you there? You went offline when I was asking you to call.” “Heh, I do that to everyone. Sorry.” I felt like by everyone, she meant me when she said that. “Hey you busy? Can you call me?” I’d type, my fingers so fast because of fear of another she-go-offline-and-me-left-dumbfounded incident. She’d reply “brb” and I’d wait like dumbshit because I’d mistaken a “bye romeo, bye” for a “be right back”. Yeah,”bye romeo, bye” because she went offline-again. Yessa.

What am I doing wrong? Is she playing hard to get or just plain doesn’t want to have anything to do with me,or is it just me?

Is it wrong that I’m enthusiastic about wanting to get to know her better, to want to talk to her, give her attention?

I like her. I really do. But I dare not call this love. Noooo no.

Maybe its ’cause I’m persistent. Too eager. Too pesterous. Or maybe just plain ugly. Unattractive. Dull.

But now, everytime she comes online,my heart flares with hope because I get another shot at a chat with her but at the same time,it tears my heart out because I know she’d go offline and leave me empty again.

Went to Republic Polytechnic to meet up with Ahmad, Khairul and Hanim just now. We had lunch at W4 and I met some old friends as well, namely Syaza and Dian. We ALL had chicken rice. NIce,very nice. We talked throughout the meal, reminiscing the times at secondary school and also their adventures during their Poly lives. We talked about E.T. , Khalid and lots more. Oh yeah, speaking of Khalid, it was a shame he couldn’t join us. Dammit, Khalid, come back to us you Bukit-Merah-Moving freak!!! ahaha. Not complete lah without him.

Then my friends had to go back to their blocks to continue with school.I shook hands with Hanim and man-hugged Khairul. Then Ahmad sulked about not getting HIS man-hug. For as long as I’ve known Mr best-floorballer-in-singapore,he’s never been the hug man..hahah. That’s when I met up with Nurul. Alah Nurul… Alah siditu Nurul tu…I met her and Hanafi. They had this like..mini-fight with each other over Nurul wanting to go home because she was bored and sick of her lecturer, who, according to Nurul, was the
FAT version of Mrs Whelan. Wow. No wonder lah.. Hanafi didn’t let Nurul go home but eventually, after some intense negotiations, trademark Nurul pettiness and sympathy from Hanafi…she was given permission by Hanafi to go home(see?boys always give chance to girls).

Finally, met up with Mr Sadiqul ‘Amin, my buddy of over 11 years!!! The guy dyed his hair. Tsktsktsk. It was so good to see him again. And I was so shocked to know that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. I didn’t believe it at first but it was All true. The doc said he had but 6 months before his condition becomes critical. And the idiot STILL smoked. When asked why he still smoked he simply said “Left with 6 months. Enjoy lah.” Dammit. I still don’t believe it.

Well on to lighter things, Nurul, Sadiqul and I went out of the building to smoke(not including me,I hate nicotine). We sat at a void deck and re-told stories of when we were delinquents at Secondary School(not me,I was a good boy). I remembered once Mr Yap, my Physics teacher asked the class:Who doesn’t want to go to Polytechnic raise their hands! in his usual, loud, annoying voice and bulging eyes. I was the ONLY one who raised my hand. Then Mr Yap said,”OKAY, take your table, go outside since you don’t want to study and go to Poly!!” Then I simply said,” I want to go JC(junior college, where some say is better than poly) what????!!” Embarassed,he reasked,“OKay,Okay, who doesn’t want to go to Poly OR JC??” Haha. Fun seh those times. In the end, didn’t go Poly, didn’t go JC. Haiya..

Then Sadiqul went back to class and I walked with Nurul to the MRT and went home. =)

Next stop,Singapore Poly where I’ll lunch with my buddies Khalid and Famiezah.=)

Is this love?

Hey, G. How are you? Fine, I hope. Its really flattering that you decided that I was kinda cute and added me at msn messenger. That’s never happened before. For that, I thank you. I miss your voice. I miss the way you tease me. We may not know each other, but I feel that we’ve known each other for long when we exchange speeches through the phone. I’ve never been able to open up to someone like I have done with you. You may think that its not much, maybe you’ve done this plenty times before and think this is no big deal but a small step for you is a giant leap for me. Like the “Syl” tag I’ve been holding on so tight to all these years reminds me of, “You can’t always get what you want. But you try anyway.” This is my shot. And I’m taking it. Hope to hear from you soon. May this hope I have not be light to a broken bulb.

Man, I swear I can’t think straight right now. Do I? Don’t I? Damn. If only I weren’t so loserish.

Hey I’d really like to write about what I’d do on date. The first in about what…ever? Maybe in the next post.

I really want her to call. Pffffsshh. Man.

You guys probably don’t know what I’m talking about,eh? Welup, welcome to planet Putra.

Man, I watched Zheng Jie battle it out with Serena Williams and I rooted for her all the way. I fully expected Serena to win but silently, I was hoping Zheng Jie could pull off a MAJOR upset and head to the final. Williams took the first set without much fuss as Zheng Jie struggled to find any kind of rythm against the raw, brute power of Serena. It wasn’t looking like it was going to be another underdog upset until the rain came and the match had to be suspended. It was a lucky break for Zheng Jie for during the suspension, she managed to regroup and when play resumed, she hit excellent shots and took Williams to 5-5 in the 2nd set. She was 40-30 going into the 11th game of the 2nd set when the heavens dropped its tears again, this time heavier than before. It took a good hour or so before play resumed for the second time. I was watching some other channel and forgot about the match until it ran through my mind that the match may have been resumed by then. How right I was. I missed the 11th and 12th game so I when I switched to Star Sports, Serena was already 2 points up in the tie-break. Zheng, with her tenacious approach to her game, took Serena to the edge and soon the score read 5-6. Zheng Jie just needed to serve well in her next two games to take the set. I,along with thousands, perhaps millions of other Chinese watching, held my breath as Zheng served. She bounced the ball, geared up for her serve, tossed the ball in the air and hit the ball. FAULT!! 2nd serve. Then she bounced, tossed and smacked again!!!! Alas, FAULT!!! OH NO! Zheng served her first double-fault of the match and lost…… I felt so sorry for her. No doubt Serena was the deserved winner but Zheng could have taken her to the 3rd set and.. who knows?? She might’ve been able to pull off another trick out of her hat. The match itself was tremendous, with Serena serving powerfully(16 aces,I think) and Zheng showing incredible fighting spirit. The only annoyance in the match was trhe commentary. The American woman, who pronounced Zheng Jie as “Tsng Jee” instead of “Tsng Jyeah” despite her saying how her name should be pronounced during her interview after her win over Nicole Vaidisova. Bloody Ignorant American(not saying that all of you are).

Anyway,

CONGRATULATIONS ZHENG JIE!!! WE ASIANS ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!! COME AGAIN NEXT YEAR AND BEAT ALL THE RUSSIANS AND AMERICANS STANDING IN YOUR WAY!!

Zheng Jie

In other news, I hope United sell Cristiano. As much as I’d love him to stay and help United, we have to accept that he thinks he’s done more than enough for us and wants to go on to other things. If we really love him and if he really wants to live his dream and go to Real Madrid, the club shouldn’t stand in his way. Besides, the money we’d make would be enough to buy us 5 future Ronaldoes(if we can get £60 million from his sale,Ronaldo cost us “only” £12 million)

As much as I love the guy as a player(I mean he IS the world’s greatest player right now, really. Which winger playing in top flight football can score 42 n a season, tell me?But don’t say he’s a better goalsorer then Ruud because that’s a lie!! Ruud was the greatest United striker of the millenium)I really cannot stand his pathetic theatrics, lack of integrity and the dives and all. A United fan through and through I might be,but I’m primarily a football fan and I simply do not support dives and simulation. If he can quit the drama and keep doing what he’s been doing(not the dives), I think people will respect and admire him more despite which club they support.

So I think United should sell him and buy Berbatov/Santa Cruz + A new defender.

sell this guy:

get this guy:

or this guy:

AND FINALLY,PRESENTING THE GREATEST GOALSCORER EVER,

RUUD VAN NISTELROOY!!!!!!!!!!!!ruud
